Next month the show will be in Long Beach, just wondering if the other shows have been good, bad or indifferent. Anybody got any feelings about them? [tdn] [tup] [sigh]

Hi Doug,

I have always found something I needed at the train shows. Even those that are not too good (less tables than previous years.)

At a recent Toy Train Operating Museum (TTOM) show, I picked up a Lionel SD-9. Unfortunately, when double headed with my GP-9, it makes my Lionel Model 1015 transformer get really hot.

A week later, I found a Lionel LW at the GATS show. This transformer is a real gem. The dial lights up (beatiful) and it only gets warm.

Plus, like this forum, there are a lot of people to talk to. Bill Nunn was at the TTOM show with his G scale micro sized layout. He explained the secrets behind designing tiny layouts.

Maybe it is because I am newly returned to this hobby, but the shows have been worth visiting for me.
