If someone doesn't buy it, it would be my guess

I heard just last week that someone did buy it. Don't have any specifics or validation.

I hope that's the case.  I've been to the "Choo-Choo Barn" and their attached fantastic hobby shop next door and I'd hate to see it go the way of others in the past when the family of the original owner decides to call it quits.  OK, time passes and things change but it's still sad.  Crying

By the way, over on the "Model Railroader" Forum there's a thread called "My First Hobby Shop" or something similar.  It's full of examples of shops that once were but are no more and for similar reasons.

There used to be a sizable family owned hobby shop maybe 25-30 minutes from me- an authorised Lionel service station too, I think? The place was long gone by the time I was old enough to talk... pretty sure it was exactly this kind of situation. It was called "HL Childs & Son". I somehow wound up with an LGB catalog at one point that came from there... would have loved to see what it was like back when it was in business.
