I don't have a Christmas loco per se but my Gulf, Southern and Ohio Geep will have to do,runs well for an MPC chassis...uploading picture
I don't have a Christmas-themed engine, but I DO have Christmas cars and I use this engine to pull the train. It's cool enough for Christmas!
Which is why I bought it!

That is a neat engine has a pre war vibe that is strong!

That was the idea, and in fact it's beefier than the pre-war 238e and with a 4-6-2 wheel arrangement more authentic to the streamlined K4s prototype. A VERY good puller as well. Since it's an in-the-house engine I added an on-off switch to the smoke unit so I could turn it off. Lady Firestorm doesn't like smoking engines under the Christmas tree and this one can really belch it out!
Yes they do;I usually shut the smoke unit off on my MTH Texas and Pacific 4-8-2.Just too much!
Isn't there anyone else with a holiday engine they'd like to post? C'mon folks, don't be shy, this isn't a competition, ALL are welcome!
I think a lot of people are afraid to post pics for some reason.
I just don't really got any! My Ives standard gauge set is a very dark green, I think there's a hint of red trim somewhere on it. Maybe I can dig her out tomorrow, we'll see.-Ellie

LeverettrailfanI just don't really got any!
Hey, don't worry! As philo implied it doesn't have to be a Christmas Christmas engine, just one that looks good under the tree or one you like to run under the tree.
Over the years I've run a Lionel 2018, a Williams Erie Berkshire, various MTH "General" types, my MTH Mighty 611, and now the Pennsy Torpedo.
But a consistant yearly appearance is put in by my K-Line Hersey 100th Anniversary Pacific pulling a consist of candy billboard cars. I call it "The Sugar High Express!"
This is the Hershey set. I lucked into it at the DC Big Flea market ten years ago. The seller only wanted $85 for it! I'm surprised I didn't rip my pants getting the wallet out!

Ahaha, well then.. I'll see what I can do. I'm Jewish, and my family doesn't set up a tree, but I have set up a train around the tree of another family member's place a couple times. One year it was two loops of O gauge, another year I did a mix of O and standard gauge. My favorite thing to see running around a tree, is whatever I feel like running I'll have to think this one over, but I'll gladly post a pic of something (or maybe a couple somethings).-Ellie
Hi Folks,
I was on a mission a few years ago promoting the use of a handcar as a locomotive.
So I guess this can be considered a Christmas train.
Lionel needs to reissue the Snoopy handcar, with Charlie brown on it this time. Last time they did the Snoopy and Woodstock handcar was 1991, so I think it's time!! And Linus as brakeman!
Take care, Joe.

Just change up the music! After all, Louis and Josh were both Jewish and yet their names became synonymous with Christmas trees!

Same me, different spelling!
Love the Peanuts train!

Well said! I wish I came up with that sentiment myself!
Here is mine. It was sold as upgradable to TMCC, Well this one has been.
Nice is that G scale?
That's G Scale all right! A nice looking Geep too!
I wonder if anyone's noticed what I have? Watching videos of train show layouts sometimes it's hard to tell just what category or size the trains are unless there's a giveaway like two-rail brass G Scale track or three-rail O Scale. Kind of an odd phenomenon. Or maybe it's just me?
Yes I check the type of track because sometimes it can be hard to determine gauge just from pics of the locos.

Thanks!! It's rather easy to add a coupler to a Lionel handcar. Just keep it lubricated and you can pull one or 2 lightweight cars.
