Same me, different spelling!
Looks like Penny Trains is right on top of the Photoshop technology!
Groovy.
I drew them up using photoshop. Once you have the required dimensions, including allowances for rivets, ribs or other obstructions, you just draw a rectangle the size you need and add the lettering based on the space available. The Times New Roman font is close to Railroad Gothic. I also have a very good Nickel Plate font not to mention one called "Honest Johns" that resembles the Howard Johnsons lettering and "Loki Cola" that I'm sure you can guess what that looks like! If you want me to draw something up I'm sure we can make it work

Yeah, they say the rarest Marx train is the one that doesn't run!
I've got a Marx "William Crooks" 4-4-0 I've had since I was seven years old. If Becky's willing to show a picture of the same I'll send it to her. I run it maybe once a year, it's 62 years old, but it still works!
pennytrains Take a close look at those markings. That's basically what you need to make your own decals, big black boxes.

A-HA! So, how'd you make the black boxes? Did you blacken the decal stock and print over it, or print on black construction paper?
I tried an experiment of painting black some of that clear decal stock and printing on it but the yellow letters disappeared into the paint. Or maybe I messed up by using a flat finish black? It's a puzzler.
In the meantime I've found another decal source, Tichy Train Group. They don't have everything but they've got a fair amount.
Cool! Oh so cool! Especially those freelanced Thai railway markings!
(Just keep it off a certain bridge that's bad luck for Thai trains!)

Giving my customized Marx 999 some track time on the dining room oval. I lettered the slopeback tender with paper labels. The cars are Lionel. Too bad you can't smell the ozone!
