Model Rectifier Corp Transformer

I have a MRC Throttle Pack Model 500 transformer and I would like to know if I could use the 16 volt AC output to power up my Lionel accessories? The terminals do not have a positive or negative symbol on them . Is one common (negative) or does it matter?

Ac power continually cycles its polairity. Ac only has a hot and a ground. Normally AC will go any way, you can put the hot to the ground, and the ground to the hot. What accesories are you trying to wire?

I am trying to wire The Lionel 145 Gateman using the FasTrack activator pack.
