i am looking for an article in Railroad Model Craftsman from the subject author about from about 30 years ago. It began describing a steamy Friday afternoon in August of 194? with a typical commuter taking the Ferry from Manhattan to the Jersey Central terminal in Jersey City, and gettting on the un air conditioned train for the ride down the shore. The writing was such that you could feel the heat and humidity odf the afternoon  and smell the smoke from the steam loco. After a paragraph or two of beautifully crafted prose, the modelling stuff began (it concerned HO gauge). Anyone know what issue this might have been?   I want to look for it on ebay for a friend of mine who enjoys good writing--not at all a model railroader.  Anyone have any help in searching this up?   Thanks for help!

Have you tried this index: https://www.rrmagazineindex.org

To filter by magazine, click the search button, then advanced search. You can select RMC magazine and put in the author name. Several items by him came up in the search.
