Assuming that you have the controller wired properly, it sounds like you may have something going on tn the automatic derail circuit.  Unfortunately, I am currently in our summer quarters, while my reference material on this subject is 3 states away in our winter quarters.

Hopefully, someone will be along soon with better advice.

Good luck.

I started wiring up the postwar 022 turnouts.  I have one that machine guns though.  It rapidly reverses from diverging to throgh route.  back and forth.    but only when the leaver is pushed one way.  the other it sits dead.  Basically cannt control it.   I suspect a short of some sort.  Of course one other only gets power and no response and the other 5 are dead.    I will reset the plugs and try those again.  Have to get the power to them first.     For now I will work on the one that is rapid firing and go from there.     ANy idea what would cause that?

One other possible short I dont understand is two of the motors when powered cause the draw bridge and bumpers to light up.  But the light on the turnout doesnt light or work at all.
