I don't usually watch the late night comedians, but they were advertising this clip for " Train Shack" a day or two in advance. So I recorded it.
On saving Lionel: apparently Neil Young was part of that equation, and he deserves a huge " Thank You"!
I like Neil's music, and his unique guitar sound. Saw a great movie on Turner the other day:
" Dead Man". A western with Robert Mitchum, Johnny Depp, and Neil Young's soundtrack. I enjoyed it thoroughly.....
I remember when Lionel went bankrupt and Jay Leno announced the end of the company. Later, he apologized and noted that the company was reorganizing and still in business.
bobhwalkerClips like this could help retail model shops.
Indeed! I wonder how many people saw that bit on Jimmy Kimmel and said to themselves "Wow! Lionels! And other toy trains! I didn't think they made them anymore!"
It could very well cause an uptick in business for hobby shops nationwide.
TrainShack is my go to store as I live just a few miles away. Thought Mindy looked great and have to tell her so. Clips like this could help retail model shops.
These are the times we all need a good laugh!
Of course, we've all been to our local train store( in fact, it is the very essence of my being...)
It's just a lot of fun having the experience lampooned like this....
Paul
laughed about the part it's a great place to meet women and they show a old timer !!
Thanks for the link, Flint.
I love that clip! Probably watched it 10 times already.....
Found it! Thanks!
Here's the link for those interested.

Sorry, watched it again. It is Brook Lopez, and he says he spends all his off season in " training". It is s20, E125 " NBAFinals Game Night" episode. You might be able to pull it up that way. Only about 3 minutes into the show.
No, I didn't. Who's the toy train fan, Jimmy Kimmel or Chris Evans?
I'm not surprised at the selection you mentioned at the Train Shack, the LA area's got a big population, bound to be a lot of toy train fans out there, and of course a lot of Lionels went west and never came back east.
Anybody catch the bit on Jimmy Kimmel last night? They had Chris Evans at the train store! It was taped at the Train Shack in Burbank, which just happens to be my local train store! This is where my Flyer 312 came from, along with several LGB engines and cars. Last time I was in there about a month ago, I saw a Lionel H0 set in the case, out of the corner of my eye. Have seen numerous compete postwar sets there, and a few years back, a 773 in the case. I love it there too much!
Must show restraint.....
