Dave, (nothern1)

You say to pu***he whistle button.
Is this correct?

The instructions say to pu***he Bell button to toggle the features on & off!
I did try [AUX1] [6] [BELL] [AUX1] , nothing!

I have also been informed, by a freind, that there is a jumper on the top board that may be out of position.

It appears you shut off the engine volume before you put in in the DD board. Position 6 sets the engine volume but I believe has to be done when still in a proto one board.
Try doing six and pu***he whistle button if it gives you sound it works in the DD board.
Dave.

I have not been able to reach anyone at Digital Dynamics.

Is there anyone out there with any more ideas?

Thank you!

Tom,

If Pat will let me go out on a limb here... Hes running TMCC. But you do not need to 'start up' a TMCC loco, like you do the MTH proto 2, you can blow the horn on a Lionel and it will be ready to roll

Pat, are you using DCS or TMCC to run the engine? ON the DCS remote, thrid button from bottom on right hand side is the start button.

Tom,

What is this 'start-up' button you speak of?

Did you do 'Start up' button. If you don't use the 'Start Up' button the engine will run without sounds or smoke (if it has it)

DD Equalizer Help!
Posted by eZAK on Saturday, January 22, 2005 10:30 PM
I recently bought a MTH F40PH w/Proto 1 that was converted to TMCC using the equalizer board from Digital Dynamics.

I have a simular engine that I did this upgrade to about a year or so ago.
I also remember having a simular problem with it.

The Problem: No Sound!
(It runs forward & backward smoothly and both couplers work fine)

I have sucessfully set the engine ID
and presumably set the engine type.

When I power up the engine I get 2 dings AND 2 air releases.
Should now be in reset. Right?

I follow the procedure for programing protosounds with the Cab-1.
[ENG] # [AUX1]#code[AUX1] (NO 'clanks or clinks')[BELL] (NO bell heard)
Shut down, wait 15 sec., power up, address eng. [AUX1] 0 (moves but no sounds)

Anybody have a solution or work around?

Thank You!
