If you put a train around your Christmas tree let's see it.
Here is mine.
Here's this year's video, showing the tree going up, unpacking my full Hallmark Lionel ornament collection, and finishing with all of my running Lionel trains, including a flashback to Christmas 1976.

Can we upload video directly?
CTT doesn't offer storage of media, so you have to upload to another site, and then embed it into the forums. In the case of still images, using the URL for the image itself is very important, because images will not show up otherwise.Videos, likewise, need to be embedded. I discovered some challenges with figuring out the correct way to do this, but thanks to the help of some other forum members the mystery was solved (see this thread).I reccomend uploading videos to YouTube as "unlisted" videos. Nobody will be able to find the video on YouTube by searching for it or visiting your 'channel'. It can only be reached via a direct link to the video. Perfect if you want to share a clip here, but don't want to be sharing videos for the wide world of YouTube.Hope this helps!-Ellie

Hot off the press!
Same me, different spelling!
Wow! Impressive!
Loved the video.
Oh wow, that was a gas!
And the legendary Lionel Paper Train made an appearance too!
Thanks Becky! Well done!
Where do you put the presents with all the trains?
Wow, great job on the Christmas layout and the video. I love the stop action and the WWII Lionel cardboard train (I heard that they're very difficult to assemble.
Keep up the great work!
I get about two good weeks max out of my holiday layout before the cats start destroying it.
At the beginning, it all starts out innocently enough - an occasional pine tree batted across the floor - but by the third week, they start brazenly walking over the scenery to find a place to sleep on the white cotton. I have a number of bare trees made of wire - I have no idea why a cat would want to sleep on top of these.
Last night, the cats got in a fight, and one of them ran right down the main drag of the commercial district, breaking some telegraph poles along the way.
I have had more broken telegraph poles this year than any other. I think I am going to glue them back and keep them separate, making them the default poles I use each year. That way, the cats can keep destroying the same ones until they are unusable.
I think next year, and moving forward, I will leave a clear path for the cats to get to lay under the tree and then exit without smashing anything. It will be interesting to see if that reduces the damage.
I just have to add a holiday flair to my table top layout as floor trains end up with gears full of dog hair since we have Huskies. We only put a small 3' tree in our bay window as the dogs like to undecorate a full size tree when we are not home. I miss being able to do a layout under the tree. Thanks for all the great pics for me and my wife to enjoy. Mike

Except for one who liked to watch the trains roll our Bassets pretty much ignored the layout under the tree, except for one who for some reason liked to sleep with her butt on the tracks like Dogzilla! I had to ooze her off if I wanted an operating session!
