Wow very warm for this time of year here. Mid 50s. So today I am going to set up the snow plow on the tractor today. That way it will be ready when I do need it.
Other than that not much to report.

Good Morning!!Leftovers for dinner after church Saturday then an early bedtime. We got up later than we wanted Sunday, breakfast was on the run to Edison, arrived about 1130.We closed the place down......literally. Jenni made a lot of good purchases for her N scale, I got a Walthers service station (to replicate my Grandfather's Texaco station) and a Lionel Tractor Trailer I spent $15 total, Jenni spent quite a bit more, but they were smart purchases. I passed on a Santa 0-8-0 LionChief engine ($95) and some O-48 Fastrack curves (6 for $30) that I should have bought. We had Dominoes and watched a movie (The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard - we recommend it) then bed.I actually got some time in the Train Attic yesterday (thanks, Fife!) and made some progress. I resurrected a 638 that I had purchased in the springtime and seems to be a good runner, Needs a little more TLC, but it looks like a keeper.
https://youtu.be/ffiq-VcQ9IwLast night did a photo shoot with the road runner and the Charger as it was Jenni's Charger's 49th birthday/Build Date. Taco Bell afterwards. Watched NY Electric trains, which we fell asleep watching and was home by midnight. Will be selling Christmas Trees tonight at the FD, County Meeting tomorrow and selling Trees Thursday and Friday.I watch my NJ Devils - when I have time - otherwise it's nothing until Spring Training.....
Fife - did you see the rumour that Smoke MIGHT be bringing Dodge back to NASCAR? He married Leah (a factory Mopar Driver) and brought Matt Hagan as well, to his NHRA team and since he's pi$$ed at Ford, might be a 2023 debut- AND he's arguing to bring the HEMI with him......could it happen????
It's cold - was cold last night, gonna be cold tonight.Off to work, lol
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Mornin' boys. Dusting of snowhizo along the Patterson Creek cut-off overnight. Wifey went with Middle Princess to witness youngest grandson's first visit with Santa. He was very good. Also scored his first train ride at one of those mall ride-ons.
If you are having a hard time finding Christmas decor, try Big Lots. They were stocked to the gills at their Cumberland store.
Nascar season done, so no sports for me 'til February. Last year, I enjoyed watching the Americas Cup action (sailing). I have bags of scenery stuff waiting under the layout, but I won't get to that until after Christmas.
88 - Always here with an ear.
Evenin' FellasThanksgiving was a blast. Spent the day at TheQ's cousin's house, found out they are expecting #2 in 5 months. Friday we spent in Bal'more at the German Christmas Village, was a bit cold and very windy so we ended up at The Trolley Stop in Ellicott City for a late lunch (haven't been there in over 10 years and the food is a good as it always has been). Saturday we spent in DC to see The Nutcracker Ballet performed by The Washington Ballet (a ballet school) and was very well done. Matthew enjoyed it very much, as did Christina (both were quiet throughout). Sunday we spent cleaning up the garage and setting up the trees (still not done). Not mentioning anything about a certain American game. While pulling out the Christmas decorations I had to rewire some of the Christmas train garden. This got me to thinking (again) about redesigning it to make it easier to transport up the stairs and to store... lots of planning and crafting in my future.Fife - I need to give you a call.

anjdevil - Enjoyed the layout update, and the light strip demo.
Mornin' boys. Cloudy with an occasional flurry or two, in the Potomac Highlands. Got the outside decor up yesterday, which made Ms. Kelly happy. Not sure how I'll be making her happy today...
While taking FifeMax out a few moments ago, could hear 1309's whistle coming from Ridgeley, WV (7 miles north of Fifedom). Perhaps WMSR is doing some testing today. They don't get it steamed up to sit and look pretty.
DJSpanky - You could always pick up a Lionel 270, 280, or even an 106 bridge. A couple of quick indentations with a dremel cutting disk will allow newer rigid roadbed to slip into the tinplate supports.
KRM et al - Yeah, well, the boy apparently got some 24 hr bugaroo and now stuck at Fifedom with a wifey who wants me to brave the elements and decorate.
Hi, I went down into the train room yesterday and looked around, but the weather has just been good enough I can still do things outside so I did not do much with the trains. Plenty of time for that as winter sets in.
8N, not sure how things work there, but, if you are the owner of the property, they may let you do what you want with it. We had three lots in Plainfield and they let us build what we wanted to after the tornado knowing it could never be sold off as single lots again. What they did not advise us to do was combine the three lots into one lot because they knew our taxes would go down. So that is what we did. Worth checking out for sure.
Might make one last swing at leaves today! Stupid Rib is still hurting at night but much better that at first.
Fife, your working too much! Hope the grandson is okay.
Best get.
Mornin' guys and gal(s). Sunny and 33 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Mighty long day yesterday, with a crew-call at 1pm, then trains at 3, 5, and 7 (with no time for eats). Today we are supposed to drive to Baltimore for grandsons' birthday party, but oldest boy was last night, so we'll see....
Sunny and mid 50's here in south central Ky today.
We spent the day in the middle of our 20 acres of woods near Bowling Green, Ky today.
We celebrated Thanksgiving with our youngest son. Roasted the Turkey and cooked all the fixings over an open fire out on our 'homestead'.
Wandered around the property looking at potential building sites for the house we are planning. Found a couple with good views, but maybe some setback issues from the lot line. Might not be an issue, as the lot line in question is between the two 10 acre lots we own, so we are our own neighbors here. Have to do some research with the county government in this.
All in all, a pretty good day.
Good morning after! We had a nice time and meal at our daughter's place yesterday. Kept it a small group due to many around still having C word issues and that meant "no drama" and plenty of leftovers. Hope all of you also had a good Thanksgiving! Like Rich, cleaning up leftovers today.
Good Morning and a Happy Black Friday to you all.Hopefully, everyone's Thanksgiving was great, ours was not without some drama but a success, nonetheless. Turkey came out great and my first pecan pies were pretty good.Santa Drive By tonight with the FD, then to Jenni's house for a bit. Leftovers for the immediate future, ain't nothing wrong with that......Rained last night now windy...Work tomorrow, hope to make an early night, then Greenburg's on Sunday!!!
Prayers for all in need and those who we have lost.
Mornin' guys and gal(s). Sunny and 38 (real feel 18-woof) along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Trains at 5 and 7 out of Romney, so I'd better dress warm.
Had very pleasant dinner at Middle Princess's home. All 4 grandparents, and 4 great-grandparents, there to take turns holding the grandson (10 month old, but wearing 18 mos!). Ran the Hogwarts Express around the tree. I had too much stuffing.
Set up Mom's Byers Choice collection on our stone fireplace, then called my sister for a little sibbling support.
Happy Thanksgiving Eve. Ms. Kelly and Alexis are in the kitchen baking pies, and prepping stuffing for tomorrow. Middle Princess (JJ) and her husband are hosting, and I've done my part by purchasing 2 bottles of vino.
The fact that so many of us will be experiencing an "empty chair" at the table this year, might make our hearts heavy. Instead, I say be thankful for the presence of their memory, for they live on through us.
God bless.
Hi gang, please have a safe and thankful thanksgiving tomorrow from Sandra and I! Love the ones close to you and pray for those who are not.
Flintlock76 Flint - that was Matthew's reasoning for wanting to catch and release. He's not into 'killing' animals. lion88roar he wants to catch and release... no sense killing a fish to eat when we can go to the store and buy ones that are already dead Well, yes and no. Take it from me no store bought trout tastes as good as one right out of the water. Not saying store bought fish is no good, far from it, but it's hard to beat out of the water and into the pan.

fifedog 88 - Mr. Fife no longer with WMSR. Now performing conductor duties in Romney, WV. However, if you guys head out to the Queen City early enough, you can do a drive-by at Fifeland (7 miles down 28). Local media reported that 1309 made a trip up to Frostburg this past week, so that's promising. Thanks for checking in, B. KRM - Sounded like a fun tour of the southwest.

Yes, I heard about that horrible attack this morning. Right now there's more questions than answers.
I don't know what else to say.
Update. I got a response to an e-mail I sent Roger Carp. Roger says as far as he knows no-one at Kalmbach was a victim in the assault. Thank God.
This is the latest.

Absolutely horrible incident in Waukesha (Kalmbach hometown). for the victims, families, and community.
Hopefully, officials will provide some answers this morning.
Sunny and about 60 in mid Mo.today.
Getting ready for our tripto Ky. next week, we spent the afternoon pulling out, cleaning, testing, and loading selected camping equipment that we haven't used for over a decade. With the exception of the iron dutch ovens, fry pan, and sauce pan which are getting re-seasoned, all is in the truck ready to go tomorrow.
Only one of our sons will be able to meet is there for our wilderness Thanksgiving, though.
Flintlock76 Wow! Somebody's going to have some well-stocked freezers! Venison for Thanksgiving?
Wow! Somebody's going to have some well-stocked freezers!
Venison for Thanksgiving?
Yes and no, it takes about 3 months to get the meat back from the locker. I am,, going to get six pounds of Venison sticks out of the deal.
Well today is day 14 since the exposure and everyone has tested negative and all are feeling well and healthy. Was a heck of a scare.
Yes that trip to the southwest was a great trip. We were going to go to the Grand Canyon from Flagstaff but we woke up and there was a foot of fresh snow so that cut that out and we left the next day for home.
Had the cable people install all their latest and greatest stuff they had to replace the old modem/router set up that kept cutting out. Part of why I gave up trying to use the PC for a while. WOW way better and now I have full access Wi-Fi in the shed as well. This set is separate modem and router and has much better range. Also set the PC up to the wire for a faster signal.
SIL came out yesterday morning and sat in the stand. About 10:30 he got a nice 8 point buck. Banks would like this.
Still just waiting out this stuff but there is light in the end of the tunnel!

Mornin' guys and gal(s). Overcast and 40 in the Potomac Highlands. Four North Pole Express trips in the book. Met a lot of nice folks. I'm off today, unless someone calls in sick. If not, I'm "reclinerizing"...
Still need to get in the train room and exorcise the Halloween items and pirate ships from the layout. May leave the night lighting up until after the holidays, as it's a hit with the family.
Yeah, definitely roomette - I've traveled that I4/I95 corridor many times.....thank goodness its FAR AWAY from I4 in Orlando....lol
