Train Show Time Again!
Posted by Flintlock76 on Thursday, August 5, 2021 12:25 PM

It's the Virginia Train Collectors Association Charlottesville Summer Train Show!

Saturday August 28, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and held at the East Rivanna Fire Hall, 3501 Steamer Drive, Keswick VA. 22947.

Around 70 tables (give or take) of toy trains and railroadiana for sale from various vendors.  Free parking, wheelchair accessable and rest rooms.  No food sales on the premises however.

Admission:  $5 adults, children 12 and under free.

Here's a map:  https://www.google.com/maps/@38.0075915,-78.3792812,16z

With the current COVID situation check the VTCA website for updates.  Right now it's a "GO," but you never know, do you?

Hope to see you there!

PS: As of today (August 5) for those interested there are still exhibitor tables available, although they typically have a lot of "last minute" sales, so don't wait if you may be interested in exhibiting at the show.

Check the club website for details under "Events."

There's a Greenberg show this weekend (August 7-8) at the Frederickburg Expo Center in Fredericksburg VA too!  I'll be going, not because I'm really looking for something but you never know, do you?

Something might be looking for ME!  Wink

Fife, if you mean Ashland VA and you have the time check this place out, if you haven't been there before.

I've been aware of it. Never open when I've been in town, unfortunately. I like to venture up to Doswell (great railfan spot), and see what's inside The Squashapenny.

"Squashapenny Junction's"  a neat place.  I haven't been there in quite a while though, last time they really didn't have anything I was interested in, but I should go back when the opportunity permits.

One last word in this thread, thanks to any and all who came to the show this past Saturday!

We had a good show and a lot of fun was had by all.

More on the November two-day show as the details are finalized.  I'll start a new thread on that one.

It also looks like the Allentown PA Fairgrounds First Frost Show is now on. Great news was announced on their website: the 2021 First Frost meet is currently on as scheduled for 11/13/21 and 11/14/21 without any COVID-related restrictions or mask mandate.

Well that's good!  The thing about Covid is (And I realize this is "out of bounds" for a toy train discussion) it's out there for good like a lot of other diseases that can carry you off, and it's never going away.  Be safe, get the shots, Lady Firestorm and I did and we don't regret it.

People that want "Zero Risk" are kidding themselves.  There's NEVER any "Zero Risk," about anything.  That's life baby.
