My young friend Mr. Harrison posted this several days ago, and it's a 20 minute fun watch!

It's the Adirondack Live Steamers club in action.  Honestly I'd never heard of them but their club "layout" is quite impressive, it looks more like a park than a club spot.  And the trains are VERY impressive!  So have a look, I think you'll enjoy it!

Fun stuff!    I've heard that a lot of these kinds of groups keep their operating sessions quiet because they're not really set up logistically or liability wise to handle giving rides to the general public.

A private club certainly, but I get the impression they do allow visitors on occasion.

It'll be a while before I get up there, if ever.  It's a long way from Virginia.

I grew up around this stuff and still know of some places still doing this. As a kid I recall old man Wagner pulling the steamers he made out of the building in back on to the exit rails for pick up. Those rails are still behind his old shop on Lockport St today. He had a great shop and it was all run on overhead belt drives. He could build anything.

I almost forgot about the Pennsylvania Live Steamers located in Collegeville, PA (outside of Philly).  Went there years ago.  Currently no public events, only members and guests, but you can contact them to attend.  These are impressive trains.

We also have a G/gauge 1 live steam group in central Indiana and me and a friend are starting a coarse O scale one as many years ago, companies such as Bassett-Lowke and Bowman made O scale live steam for tinplate track, like this one I just purchased.
