Sunday Photo Fun 7/18/21

Began the scenicing of the Fort Mulligan (Petersburg,WV) area. I had to have an area for my Civil War tin soldiers to hang out, so I chose this small fort. But there won't be any blood and guts spilled (unless lionroar 88 helps me Laugh), as I model the time frame of 1911-1913. And what would have been going on during those years? 50th Anniversary gatherings.

Here is what the layout looked like in its raw beginnings. Open grid benchwork with 1x3's, Pergo flooring strips for subroadbed, and Luann 5.22 sheets of plywood. You can find it at Lowe's, and it comes in very-easy-to-transport-home 2'x2' and 2'x4' sheets. One evening with a hot glue gun, modified clothespins, and a short stack of cardboard packing strips, and I'm off and running.

Great work fife,

I look forward to watching your progress  You make it look easy.

I don't often buy restored or repainted pieces for my collection.  I do make exceptions and this is one.  Its a combination of original and restored pieces.  I couldn't resist some old tinplate that looked new.

Kept at it with the hot glue and cardboard "cartilage", until I finished the area below the fort.

Since I had the tripod, I spun around 180 degrees to catch Dora Lee entering the Trough area.

Northwoods - Fine looking set there. Would look splended running through a pumpkin patch in a couple months. YesCowboy

With all that orange wouldn't he be taking a chance at losing it in there?

Hmmmmm...

Perhaps I should run his bigger brother so I won't loose it....

among the pumpkins.   Wink

I can always send my grandson in after it.
