I cannot subscribe to the "we know whats best for you" approach. I've been to crowded events all through 2020 and 2021 and that was my choice. I am also healthy through it all. Point is that personal choice and responsibiliy is most important to me.
BillwizNo, I did not get a lollypop either. Maybe that is what we need to get more people vaccinated?
It's worth trying, nothing else seems to be influencing the undecided!
Flintlock76But here's the thing, after a year of "All COVID, all the time!" on the news and in other things people want their lives back, pure and simple.
Absolutely everyone does. In my situation, I've taken baby steps at first, moving from opening to adding back aspects. We hope to have everything "back" by Fall - and are planning our annual Polar Express Event for December.

BillwizNot so sure "guts" is the correct response in my humble opinion.
Point taken! But here's the thing, after a year of "All COVID, all the time!" on the news and in other things people want their lives back, pure and simple.
Now, back in May my club "pulled the trigger" and held a two day show, and it was the most successful show we've ever had. Plenty of visitors, mask wearing was on the honor system, if you had the vaccination you don't need a mask, if you didn't, please wear one, but we didn't assign a "mask cop" to check people for vax cards. There's been no fallout since the show, no one's gotten sick, no one's dropped dead, no nothin'.
By the way, if you haven't gotten the COVID vaccination do so! I have and don't regret it. It's easy to find places providing shots, so there's no excuse to not get one.
The only downside? You won't get a lollypop afterward.
OK, the corkscrew needles are a bit hard to take, but you'll live!
Not so sure "guts" is the correct response in my humble opinion. Organizations are struggling to do advanced planning during a pandemic. I know this as I am personally involved with building use, reopening things and striving to maintain safety while getting "back" (although things will never be the same). I give York credit for working out the details and moving forward. However I do not criticize any organization for canceling events. As one collegue has said, if you do not have the responsibility of making the decision, you have the luxury of criticism.
Glad to see the York show return. Always enjoyed the event but at this point in life my purchases are small and the expense of travel exceeds what I would buy there by 10X. The Allentown Train Meet is also returning and that is more my speed; closer and only an hours drive..
Good LORD willing, I'll be there. Anybody else?

Thank goodness TCA's got the guts to pull the trigger.
