Sunday Photo Fun 5/30/21

A little change of pace this week, with a cute story and a cute picture...

The Oldest Princess and her family are down in Key West this week, visiting the SIL folks. Now throughout Key West, there are live video cams that you can watch via YouTube. Earlier this week, I just happened to be watching the one at Front Street, and I see a train/tram, with a cute little black steam engine on the point, with 4 or 5 "coaches" in tow, pull into the parking lot of some kinda trading post style store. I sent the Oldest Princess an IM, asking if the Curly Top had seen this vehicle yet and demanded a ride? She responded, "We're on one now." I asked her is she was on this lot next to a trackless trolley, as I was watching one via Live Stream. She said, "I'm on Front St at the corner..." I told her to go to the rear of the tram and wave big, and there they were!

Not sure what the odds of me randomly spotting these two chipmunks, from 1275 miles away, but I should have bought some scratch-offs right afterwards...

Millie is simmering at Cumberland Station, as the Sunday strollers line up at Mr. Geno's ice ceam wagon.

Figures are from the Seasons Bay/Dept.56 collection.

Sparky is glistening in the sun as he heads over the Cumberland & Pennsylvania coal wharf. Let's hope the gentleman's intentions with the damsel are good, as he paddles the rowboat back into the C&O canal basin. Wharf was scratchbuilt from photos. Structure in the back represents the B&O bolt and forge, made from a tin structure offered by Michael's a few years ago. The structure doubles as an access point to hidden trackage behind.

Great pictures gents!  I like that Florida East Coast RR on the "train," show that someone in Key West remembers!  And I like that black-and-white shot Fife, looks like Matthew Brady visited your layout!

My son in the operations manager for the Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad in Trego Wisconsin. As I have mentioned before the railroad is in the process of returning the original Mark Twain Zephyr (1937) to operating status. They have accomplished an incredible amount of work so far.  They have been hosting an open house yesterday and today.  I was asked to bring the American Flyer Zephyrs from my collection to put on display.  If the link below works it will take you to the video that was posted today. Yours truley appears at about the 9:56 mark in a red shirt and black mask describing the trains.

Great job!  My favorite streamliner too!  Man, that Flyer Zephyr is aptly named.  It flies like the wind!  Big Smile
