PLASTICVILLE 2
47 WORDS

BEWARE BACKWARDS ANSWERS

  1. “Boy, is this place (RUSTIC)”, you think to yourself as you examine the old brown (LOG - CABIN) hewn from felled trees a century or two ago.  It occupies a clearing in the woods behind the big glass (GREENHOUSE) on your friend’s farm.
  2. You came here to film a story about the (HORSES) your friend raises for derby racing.  You work for WPLA, a (TV - STATION) back home in the big city.
  3. There are other (ANIMALS) here of course; cows, pigs, goats.  There’s a good sized (COOP) for chickens among the various (OUTBUILDINGS) and what would a farm be without a barking (DOG) to keep the sheep under control?
  4. Today is (MARKET) day, the day when all the area’s (FARMERS) make the short trip[ to town to sell their produce.  City dwellers might call this place (RURAL), but to Plasticville’s residents it’s just plain home.
  5. While you’re in town, you stop by the big (BANK) with the green awnings.  You’ve become fast friends with the teller there and learn that she has an (APARTMENT) in a two (STORY) building with balconies next door to the (DINER) that looks like an old railroad car.
  6. You’ve passed by her building a time or two and thought to yourself “if you (ADD - A -FLOOR) or two to this place, it would look just like the high-rises back home.”
  7. As you leave the bank, you spy a new (HOUSE) that is (UNDER) (CONSTRUCTION).  They’ve got the walls up and are framing the roof of what looks like a cape (COD) style home.
  8. The (TRAFFIC) (LIGHT) changes from red to green and you drive on in the Willy’s (JEEP) you friend lets you use while you’re visiting.
  9. You pass the (INTERCHANGE) of the All-American (TURNPIKE) and note that the highway department employees are on the ball as all the traffic (CONES) stand like pointy rubber soldiers lined up for inspection.
  10. You’re headed to the (AIRPORT) to see the shiny new (JETS) that have arrived for the air show and are being serviced in the big (HANGAR).  You pass the (TERMINAL) which is part control (TOWER) and part (ADMINISTRATION) building.  An (AIRPLANE) with four big propellers is waiting on the tarmac for clearance to take off.  It may be a B-29.
  11. Before the airport was built, this place was a hobo (JUNGLE) and then a (TRAILER) (PARK) for mobile homes.
  12. After getting some film of the newest jets, you swing past the railroad (INTERLOCKING) tower that was added a few years ago where an old (WATER) tower with a wood tank once stood.  There’s still a small (PLATFORM) here for freight.
  13. “(STREET) light or (BOULEVARD) lamp?” you wonder to yourself as you pass the many graceful globe-topped green devices along the road to the (HARDWARE) store.  Your friend asked you to purchase a few things there while you were tooling around in his vehicle.
  14. Heading back to the market, you pass the small three-room (MOTEL) and note that it’s a good thing you don’t need a bed as the “NO VACANCY” sign is lit.  Although the “NO” part of the neon struggles to do so.  There’s a cute little wishing (WELL) in the garden out front of the office that looks like it was dropped right out of a storybook.
  15. Back at the market now, your friend says he had a great day and as you cross the big steel (TRESTLE) (BRIDGE) over the river your companion notes that trains used to use it before a line relocation.  But you think to yourself “I’m not here to shoot ‘The Bridges of Plasticville County’” as you head back for some great (BARBECUE) cooked on the brick hearth you helped construct on a previous visit.  “The ribs always seem better when they’re grilled in Plasticville U.S.A.” you think to yourself hungrily.  “He had better have saved some of that corn too!”  It is a holiday weekend after all!
