Say, have you looked at Harrison's thread over on the "Trains" Forum? He's a D&H fan as you are and prowls the old D&H lines around where he lives shooting some very good videos of present day operations.
Thanks, I downloaded all of the Lionel, MTH, Bachmann, and Weaver catalogs I could find online, as well as some of the Atlas stuff. The paper would be nicer, but word searching for road names electronically is faster.

BigAl 956 I had a library of catalogs I would have given away for free. If you plan on getting into the hobby look for older catalogs for sale on eBay and start collecting. They will only set you back a couple bucks each.

Or, when the train shows start up again, particularly the ones sponsored by local clubs, see if they have any "give-away" tables of old catalogs and magazines. Take all you like, they won't care and it may be a help to you.
This is a good guide to locally sponsored shows:

This is for the big shows, but the big shows usually don't have giveaway tables.

"CTT" has an "Events" section of the website but for some reason it's not working yet, (What's taking them so long?) or I would have been more than happy to link it was well.
Well, there's the Lionel archives: http://www.lionel.com/products/archived/
And the MTH catalogs: https://www.mthtrains.com/catalogs-new
Don't forget the Greenberg Guide: https://kalmbachhobbystore.com/product/book/10-8721
But so far I haven't seen a comprehensive guide post the 2000 product year.
Same me, different spelling!
I have been an occasional lurker on this site, though I mostly model in HO scale. However, I anticipate switching to hi-rail O gauge in a couple of years. I have slowly been buying stuff I like, and read the odd CTT magazines, but can't say I am familiar with the scene.
I see lots of stuff I like at shows, but then I go home and forget it. Or, I would also like to know what has been made over the past 15-20 years by all the big manufacturers (Lionel, MTH, K-Line, Atlas O, Williams, WBB, etc). Does anyone publish a guide listing stuff that has come out? It doesn't necessarily have to list value, but engine or car types, road numbers, item numbers, and perhaps year produced would be really helpful.
Thanks.
