50 and rainy. Slept till 8:30 [off and on]. Nothing till 1:30. Dermatologist and then Cardiologist. Lunch with ladies about Saria Leone is now a zoom this evening. Mom dislocated her shoulder in a fall and so we are doing zoom.

Gas shortage due to topping off and filling gas containers [no joke]. You don't normally see this volume of gas customers. I have a full tank of gas in pickup so going east tomorrow. Caddy has plenty and Wifey's car too. I grew up done east where everything was miles away. Parents taught me to keep at least a half of a tank of gas at all times. Wifey, I have to watch. She is a city girl and never understands. Hers filled last Sat. Caddy gets filled each time I am in Wake Forest as easy to go by Sam's Club. Didn't since lines have formed. Wifey was suppose to go to Gail's in Athens GA. this weekend. Canceled [to Wifey's pleasure].

Prayers for John and great recovery.

Have a good one.

Note: has does this software change font and size when you type all the same.  Edit and make it all the same and comes out wrong. ????

Mornin' boys. Sunny and 62 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Already been to PT for foot, and had breakfast with nurse princess. She had to leave her Hyundai at the garage for work.

First and foremost, thanks for the Angel. John's four hour surgery went well.

I finished planting the flox (17 of them) on the hill next to the drive. That was after digging out the juniper that was there. Job will take a few more Spring plantings to finish. Wifey needs to be patient.

Gas. Seems the narrative goes to the favorite boogiemen, the Rooskies. Believe that, if you must...LaughLaughLaugh

Doc visit was Okay. Gained 12 lb this year, now 212. Most ever for me. I blame the COVID-19 thing and not being able to do anything but eat. All the same BS from him about all the same things for me. But he said see ya next year so that works for me. Did get one new med to replace one I quit taking, go figure! We will see how this one works out. Called pravastatin?

Plenty of gas here and sitting at $3.19 How long, who knows. At least we got plenty of TP. Laugh

Same here Chief, never below 1/2 tank is the rule.

Good news on John, boy that is a long surgery. Surprise

Hey all!

Missed a couple of days - busy and bushed at the same time.

Not much to add....

Chief and others - if you "PASTE" text into this forum for some reason it cannot resolve fonts/etc. I am successful by right-clicking and selecting "PASTE AS PLAIN TEXT". The forum still has trouble with line spacing as this forum auto-spaces new paragraghs at 1.5 lines. Or you can type all your posts in something like MS NOTES, copy and paste - but you will still have the 1.5 line paragragh spacing issue hosing up line and paragragh spacing.

41 degrees.  Fair. Overdosing on Tylenol Authritus.

Off to the farms.

Strange. Dr.'s are scared to give you pain meds and sleep meds. Woke up at 3. Had Tylenol Authritus out waiting. Up at 5 as couldn't go back to sleep.

Later.

Good morning folks! A nice sunny day! 70's - aren't cool fronts great?

A couple of 6 hrs sleep per night has me on reduced capacity today.

Not much planned as a result.

Becky - oh a sorta sad day - I need to get back to my list for a similar action with a local train buyer. Intend to have that done by summer?

Chief, I use a fractionated oil mix on my cervical arthritis and it has been SUPER in minimizing to eliminating the pain. After I had my "adventure" with some pain killers I swore off them completely regardless of the pain. Being the world's #1 skeptic I tried it to make the better half happy and she almost fainted when I praised the results.

Well my search for a unicorn, a MTH Pullman coach, is being duplicated in a search for a Railking E/F/P series passnger diesel in L&N livery. Apparently they only exist, along with the Pullman coach, in a parallel universe not accessable by mere mortals. Sigh

V8Vega
Becky I guess your selling your trains?

Well...not ALL of them.  Wink  I'm keeping my favorite stuff in O gauge and 95% of my Standard gauge which boils down to about a half a dozen O gauge locos and the only working Std. Ga. loco I had.  Plus freight cars, passenger cars, vintage and reproduction accessories, Plasticville buildings and more.

Since downsizing was forced upon me, and because I had already decided a few years ago to start specializing a bit more, it wasn't too hard to give a lot of it up.  When I built Disneyland that put my G-scale out of work at Christmas time.  My HO, N and On30 were collecting dust in boxes and there were WAAAAYYYY too many "half of this" and "half of that" items in junk boxes around here.

The only tough decision really was to leave S-gauge behind.  That decision got a bit easier when I couldn't get the track off the board without completely destroying it.  My locos were so finicky that I had to have my track as close to perfect as possible to keep the locos on the rails.  And I decided that mounted trackwork probably wasn't going to be an option in an apartment even if I had some sort of rudimentary train board.  So, the S-gauge had to go.

I got a thousand bucks today and he's coming back next tuesday to buy my canoe for another 500.

PLUS!

He's going to try to sell my "THEME PARK" models at a train show in September for 50% of the proceeds!  If they don't sell, he will dispose of them which is what I was expecting to have to do anyways.  So, it's a chance for (don't say the name, nobody ever heard of any park in California by that name Wink) to survive on someone else's layout.

Mornin' boys and girls. Sunny and 41 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. It is the calm, before the storm. We will be picking up the Curly-Top (CT) this afternoon, for a five night stay. This will be his longest sojourn without his Mommy (OP), so hang onto your hats. He asked if he could "touch Pop's trains" on the phone last night. Grandmom is stoked. Alexis is in hibernation. Even fifeMax seems to be getting extra R&R in preparation.

Morning all.

Currently 57 in Western PA.  Going to the mid 60s so they say with sunny weather all weekend.  I guess it's time to clean the pool deck and then seal it.  Way over due.

Green tea in the mug and a full day at the office.

A little something from the layout last evening.  That guy sleeping by the tracks better be careful...at least I hope he's sleeping.

I SLEPT good last night. Fred reminded me of something. Benadryl. At first, lots of energy and then bang. Took two.

Jumped from 42 to 70 degrees. Sunny.

Out to set out garden. Hope the chest holds out. This constant burping is a mess.

Wifey is going to help.

Bear destroyed feeder again.  We have a plan.  Big pine tree next to it.  Going to mount it to the tree 8' off the ground.  Bolt top on as bears can climb trees.  If she pushes over pine tree, we have a problem.

Have a good one.

Last night's meeting was interesting - the president had a medical emergency at the FD and I had to sub as President - 2 hour meeting.  WOO HOO!!!
I took no crap and kept everybody quiet.  Not bad for a last minute substitution.  I gotta tell ya, running th county meeting is a breeze compared to last night....lol

Penny - Glad you are doing the best possible - Not sure I could do it....
Fife - Good luck on the visit - still should be a blast!

DJ - I'll trade you a 1970 Hemi Cuda Convertible for your gas ---

So tomorrow is work on my friends '69 440 Super Bee (was postponed from last year), Sunday is move beds around day.  3 houses 4 beds - ***joy*** - at least my future SIL will help me....

75 today and a little breeze - so far it's nice.

No motorcycle rides - STILL no glasses - 1 week+ - I can't believe I have to wait this long, it's like I'm back in the 70s....

Night 1 is in the books, and it went smoothly. However, our "radar" was on, so every little sound...Zzz CT up at 0630, ready to go. We've already spent a half-hour running trains on the carpet. He's gonna help Fifepops dig in the garden, water the posies, and feed the birdies, after breakfast.

Marty - That video was just a tease. Please, sir, may I have some more...?Dinner

Chief, I hate to say it but the NRA has been going down the wrong path since Mr. LaPierre came along and started driving the bus down the dark crazy far right road and leaving the hunters and sportsman behind to push fear and lies to soak money out of the membership. JMHO. We will see how it goes. He is just another crook.

Cool with plenty of drizzle today. Will be good for the grass seed we have planted by the creek. That area is coming along even with the lack of rain the last two months. Rain seems to be in every day for the next ten or so. That should help things along.
We took a ride to a small town called Sublett yesterday to visit a friend of ours from Plainfield who just moved back from ten years in SC, just to find out he had gone fishing with another friend of ours from Plainfield in Wisconsin. That was okay it was a great day for a drive. I knew his address but not his phone number but we had a nice chat with his wife. She said that the people in SC just plain hate Yankees and they were sick of snakes and scorpions and all the rest of the stuff where nothing dies in winter. Sandra and I then went and had lunch in a small bar and grill in town. The only bar and grill in town. Ha ha ha.
The Tom turkeys are busy chasing the hens and the creek is looking better every day.

Mornin' girls and boys. Wet, overcast and 55 in the Potomac Highlands. Stuck inside kinda day. We all got a decent night's sleep, so nobody should be on edge. Except fifeMax, whom got a little on edge towards CT, which got his fuzzy butt on his lead. Grand mom has some inside projects for them to do today (If she can stay within the 10 minute window of attention...). Place yer bets...

Speaking of, Derby winner got dusted on the last stretch. The silver hair dude was noticeably absent. Hmmmm...

Would've been nice to be at Dover today. Overcast days are easier in those aluminum stands. Haven't been to a race in a while.

In and out of the train room, and my Williams 4-6-0 had a wire break off on one of the tender pick-up rollers. Tiny wire will be a headache to re-attach...

Youngest Princess wanted me to go with her and her boyfriend to help him pick out some nice threads for an upcoming family function. Kohl's is the only thing nearby, and we were able to suit him up (sports coat, slacks, shirt, shiny shoes, suspenders and even a bow tie), all for a little over two bills. Now she has her "arm candy" for her cousin's wedding.

Hope all have a great week ahead.

Thought I would drop in and say "HI", nothing going on here, but everything IS good!  So no complaints.  Weather has been cool here, mostly gray overcast days, (usual stuff).

Glad to see everyone doing good!

Take care all!

Morning all

Looks like a progressively warmer week in store.  Got a lot done this weekend including the pool deck cleaned, bed washed, grass cut, the pool pump / filter / heater hooked up, and a whole other bunch of spring projects.  Hoping to get out of work a little earlier today and get the deck sealed so I can open the pool by Wednesday or Thursday.

Even had time to work on the trains a bit and then run the NKP 765 on an excursion trip...

Stay safe everyone!

Mornin' boys. A little foggy and 50 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. CT is pounding on some kinda Frogger game Grandmom bought, and it sound like a team of carpenters descended in the house. Thanks, Dear....

Bear cubs were here last night and scattered the trashcans for me. Thought they had moved on two weeks ago.

Did get the Williams 10-wheeler repaired, after sodering the frail wire back on its post. Also performed a quick traction tire replacement on Doralee. Really need to do some better wiring on the mainline, and add another power feed or two. I get things up and running, and sometimes my "good enough" ain't a-gettin' it.

Afternoon all!

Cloudy but warm. 90's this weekend - a bit early for that!

Slow couple of days. Low energy. Got the oil/filter and fuel primary filter in the boat changed. There is a secondary filter I just learned about and of course I need a special thread sealer for the change. The sealer is in an auto parts store across town, so have to plan a trip. The secondary filter has never been changed - 2008 boat - but only 400hrs on it - and it runs fine so not worrying about it. PITA to change it. Checked Amazon and it is unclear if anyone has it - and delivery out more than a week.

Daughter and SIL finish the move to their new house tomorrow - they are tired but excited!

Regards, Roy
