American Flyer Accessories
Posted by Jerrymac on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 1:02 PM

I am new at this so please forgive any ignorance.  I finally got my vintage American Flyer running on a small oval.  It appears the locomotive stack would take a pellet for smoke.  Local hobby store says they are not sold anymore.  I think I found some on Ebay, but how do they work.  Light them with a match and deposit in the stack?

Also, I'm interested in whistle.  Are ones made that the train sets off as it rounds the track?  Battery operated operated by a switch? What and what's best?

American Flyer engines with the smoke/choo choo feature use a smoke fluid. Most any current smoke fluid will work, the original was cedar scented. Please post the engine number so we can provide additional details.
