Adhering religiously to the tenets of " Murphy's Law", and not having a single derailment in well over a year....
now that I've closed off my access isle with a canyon, I've had 4......
Here's the current state. Added some foliage. Still under development.

Thank you!
just trying to do something with this space. This area was originally an access pit, but space in the train room is at a premium, plus, I'm getting too old to crawl and squeeze up in there! It's better to use as a canyon. The Royal Gorge is a good fit for this space. Trying to capture the look.

That's really looking great!
Same me, different spelling!
Here's my progress on my "Royal Gorge". Excited about the results!!https://gorgeousgorge.shutterfly.com/#%3aemid%3dsite_sitecreated%26cid%3dSHARE3SXXXX
Here's with scenery enhancements. more 3 dimensional shapes to come.https://royalgorge3rail.shutterfly.com/#%3aemid%3dsite_sitecreated%26cid%3dSHARE3SXXXX
Thanks, DJ!
Now that you mention it.....
I heard "Train in Vain" the other day, and it got stuck in my head! I saw the Clash in '82, at th Santa Barbara County bowl, of all places. But that's not the whole story:
My brother and I were in NYC in '81, and it happened that the Clash were playing at Bond's. As much as I tried to talk him into going, a punk show in Times Square was a hard sell! So, we passed. As it turned out, the Fire Department shut it down anyway. Too many people in a crowded club.Things always work out,I guess.
Music and tastes change, and Joe Strummer is no longer with us....
Anyway, I think vertical space is sometimes the forgotten frontier. Since I have discovered this concept, I am obsessed with it! It's amazing how much more space actually exists! Ponder it for a while, and I'm sure you'll find a way, it'll probably just come to you one day!
Thank you, Becky!
I love to use the vertical space, as do you! It's another dimension.....
These were ideas from before, but did not follow through until now.
That's looking fantastic!
Thank you, Flintlock!
I've been working on the garden railroad for the last year, and while no where near finished, it's off to a great start. I've decided the train room needs some love....
All the projects I never finished in the train room are getting attention.I'll be finishing scenic elements, extending the rock face to cover and hide table legs. And adding shrubbery and roads, etc.
Incidentally, I can now run 11 trains simultaneously, with 12 loops of track. A lot of scenery I never finished is now getting attention.
Oh-so-cool Paul!
And that reminds me, I've still got to get me one of those 2035 "Blockbusters!"
Maybe when the train shows start up again...
Here's a link to some photos of the canyon scene I'm Developing. the 0n30 has been extended from a "U" configuration on through the canyon. this is reminiscent of Durango and Silverton's " High Line". A new loop of 3 rail is in the base of the canyon. This will be for Marx, and possibly Lion Chief, when I get some. Scenery will be Royal Gorge inspired. As if Santa Fe actually won the Royal Gorge Wars....
