This was posted on the MR website, but it was a big enough store that I thought some of you might like to know:

That's a rotten shame, but if you don't own the building, and the building's owners pull the rug out from under you, what can you do?

If it were me, I'd start looking for another location to resume operations when things get better, but they know their situation better than I do.

I visited the store in April 2019 and was very dissapointed based upon past visits. The lack of Lionel was shocking.

Unfortunately, the internet has made the operation of many brick and morter business obsolete. Unless you are operating a strong web sales platform a conventional B&M storefront will succomb to the phenominum of 'showrooming' where customers visit to look and touch then go home and buy on-line to save $100 bucks.

Al, a lot of that may depend on the old real estate adage, "Location, location, location!"  My local hobby shop is doing quite well, however they also do quite a bit of mail-order sales.  They haven't had a problem with the walk-in trade however, it's as good as it ever was.

I should add the nearest train shop to them is 60 miles away.
