BEWARE BACKWARDS ANSWERS

  1. For the first time in 46 years American Flyer trains were presented in their own (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) catalog in 2012.
  2. Leading off the (_ _ _ _ _) locomotives were five 2-8-8-2 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) mallets.
  3.   6. Five more SD70’s were cataloged with U.P. numbers.  There was the No. 6-48166 “Building America” plus four (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) schemes.  The Nos. 6-48177 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Pacific, 6-48174 Southern (_ _ _ _ _ _ _), 6-48175 Rio (_ _ _ _ _ _) and the 6-48176 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) and North Western.
  7. Wearing the “brilliant (_ _ _ _ _) Special paint scheme”, the No. 6-48162 (_ _ _ _) PA A-A set of 2012 was joined by the Nos. 6-42570 D & H and 6-42573 SP in 2014 as members of the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Line.
  8. Ten ES44AC diesels joined the Flyer line in 2013.  Modeling Norfolk Southern’s Heritage series were the Nos. 6-42542 Central of (_ _ _ _ _ _ _), 6-42544 “Big Blue” (_ _ _ _ _ _ _), 6-42546 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _), 6-42548 (_ _ _ _ _ _) Valley and 6-42550 (_ _ _ _ _ _) Plate Road plus five more.

  13. Big northerns returned in 2016 as the Nos. 6-47951 U.P., 6-47950 Chicago, Milwaukee, (_ _ - _ _ _ _) & Pacific, 6-47953 New York (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) and the striking blue and white of the SL-SF “(_ _ _ _ _ _)” Lines (_ _ _ _ _ _).
  14. Announced in 2013 as a (_ _ _ _ _ _ _)”, Lionel, through an agreement with (_ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Entertainment Inc. brought the (_ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) to S-gauge rails for the film’s (_ _ _ _ _) anniversary in 2014.

  4. By the numbers, they were the 6-48180 (NORFOLK) & Western, 6-48179 (PENNSYLVANIA) Railroad, both with (DOGHOUSE)-style tenders, the 6-48178 (SANTA - FE), 6-48181 (UNION) Pacific and 6-48182 (VIRGINIAN) Railway.
