"Two Tiered trackplan" in CTT - which issue?
Posted by Benjamin Maggi on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 9:54 AM

I randomly purchase back issues of CTT at trains shows and such, read them, and then give them away. Thus, I never have many on hand. I remember a track plan that I found extremely interesting and searching the CTT trackplan database turned it up:

https://ctt.trains.com/how-to/track-plan-database/2011/03/two-tier-track-plan

The website says it was from March 2011, but looking at that issue's cover doesn't ring any bells. And, when I looked up the back-issue online the Kalmbach description of its contents doesn't mention the track plan.

I want to buy the back issue again. Does anybody know what issue it was in? Thanks.

How about "Loads in, Empties out.  This two-level O gauge plan puts coal accessories to use", by Howard Reed, July, 2003?

The two-tier track plan you are looking for by Howard Reed appeared in the July 2003 issue--as Bob Nelson carefully noted.

The track plan in the March 2011 issue is a tri-level plan by Ray Stuber.

Good luck and thanks for posting,

Thanks to both. Oddly, the CTT trackplan database lists the Two Tiered trackplan as appearing in the March 2011 issue. Perhaps someday it will be corrected.

Hi everyone, I looked at this, and it indeed is correct. Above the headline it says "From the July 2003 issue," and the text says "Originally appeared in the July 2003 issue."

The March 1, 2011 date you're seeing (next to the creator's name) is the date this was published to the website.

Thanks Rene! That explains it.
