Yowza, where did the summer go...?

Here's a small scene:

Which is just a part of the overall picture of what you see when you first enter my train room.

Those shots are magical Fifedog, I can't think of another term that fits!

Poor Thomas Kinkade, agonizing over not getting any recognition from the "artistic" community.  If I was him I'd have cried all the way to the bank.

Thank you for the kind comments.  Funny what you can achieve with a few hours after dinner, a hot glue gun, and some 70% off floral sprigs.

Flintlock - Kinkade painted Christmas Train Station, featuing a Lionel set, but other than some SanFrancisco trolley scenes, that was about it for railroads.  My layout kinda broaches the "what if", had he included more work with trains.  I have most of his Springtown series ceramic structures, put out by Hawthorne Village, thoughout the new layout.

pennytrains - After modeling snow for a dozen years, yep I went all in on Spring.  I'm a fan of "Hello Dolly."  I set out to run pretty trains, though pretty scenery.

Now, I encourage the rest of you to post some pics of your layouts.

Interesting.  I could have sworn I've seen Kinkade "Christmas Card" type paintings where, while they're not the main focus of the work, there are trains as part of the background.

Doesn't matter really.

Thanks Becky!  I knew there were other Kinkade paintings with trains in them, and don't you just love the "Lionelville" painting?  Talk about fantasy and whimsy combined beautifully!

Santa in the other painting's a dead-ringer for my brother in law "Big B," by the way.
