Sharing a couple of progress shots, while highlighting some of the Father's Day gifts my kids gave me this year.
First up is the new village that my grandson constructed, for my town of Romney. Next up will be cardboard strips to shape in the area. On the bridge is a 19th century WM gondola (30-72201). Hard to believe that this might be the last new MTH product I may ever receive. It's a great looking piece of rolling stock.
My town of Moorefield now has a MTH water column to service its steamers. This sample was purchased used, off ebay, and was a little scratched up. A quick over spray of flat black, then a dusting of flat brown, and it looks right at home. The white buildings in the background are part of the stockyard scene, and are HO scale. Corrogated paper painted flat black was fashioned for rooves, to give the complex a uniformed appearance.
Beautiful! That's a great job your grandson did!
Tweeking the track to work and to look better. Again, I am still modifing the MTH O-72 switches by adding a thin piece of plastice to the guard rail such that the wheels do not pick the frog and derail.
