Looks like they sort of slide in, but there is glue on the strips. 2 hours, first car.

Need to replace window strips on most of the passanger cars of my  Lionel Texas Special  set, question on how to remove metal base frame from shell. Seems that it should slide out of the grooves of the shell. But dosent seem to want to budge. Any suggestions?
