55 WORDS

  1. (_ _ _ _ _ _) L. (_ _ _ _ _) and (_ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _) began the (_ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) Co. with no trains.  The first railroad item was a cheese (some say cigar) box with (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) and (_ _ _ _ _) joints and used the motor from an unsuccessful (FAN).
  2. Why J. L. C. spaced his rails, made of (_ _ _ _ _ _) of steel pressed into slots in the (_ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _)  2 7/8 inches apart, remains a mystery.
  3. The 1901 catalog debuted the No. 300 (_ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) which used the motor and frame of the wood No. 200 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) gondola and a body purchased from Morton (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _).  The summer style car may have originally come with the (_ _ _ _).
  4. The No. 340 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _) was made of (_ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _) and could be used with Lionel’s No. 380 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _).
  5. The steel No. 200 (_ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _) gondola went from green to maroon for it’s last year.
  6. The No. 100 locomotive was based on a (_ _ _ _ _ _) motor prototype operated by the (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) and (_ _ _ _) Railroad.  It had a simulated motorman’s (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) and was lettered “B & O No. 5”.
  7. Two other early Lionel motorized units were the No. 500 Electric (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) Car and the No. 800 Boxcar which is often called the “(_ _ _ _) car” because of it’s (_ _ _ _ _ _) windows.
  8. Records indicate that sales of the No. 700 Special (_ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) were made.  The set included a (_ _ _ _ _ _) plated No. 100 locomotive with a (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _ _) mechanism and a No. 400 (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) Car.
  9. The destination boards of the No. 300 could be reversed to read (_ _ _ _ _) (_ _ _ _ _).
  10. To power your equipment, Lionel sold No. 302 (_ _ _ _ _ _) batteries with No. 308 (_ _ _ _ _ _) Cylinders, No. 304 Composite (_ _ _ _ _), No. 305 Electric (_ _ _ _) and four No. 306 Glass (_ _ _ _) in a wood box.
  11. Toy train buyers must have considered themselves lucky when Lionel started selling No. 301 (_ _ _ - _ _ _ _) batteries.  The catalogs showed (_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _) in 1903, (_ _ _ _ _ _ _) No. 3’s in 1904 and (_ _ _ _ _ _) products in 1905.
  12. Besides the No. 340 Bridge and the No. 380 Pillars, Lionel offered the No. 350 (_ _ _ _ _ _), No. 330 Crossing and the No. 320 (_ _ _ _ _ _) and Signal for creating your 2 7/8 Gauge empire.
