K-line switch Chattering only when attach controller
Posted by jimhaleyscomet on Sunday, January 9, 2005 1:15 PM
I have two questions and would appreciate assistance.

I just finished my 027 layout and have 5 switches powered by separate in phase transformer. Without the controllers attached everything works fine including non derailing feature. When I attached the controller (making sure dash wire goes to dash marking and ground to center) one of the switches just starts cycling back and forth. I tried a grounding the switch to other parts of the track with no success. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Also, is there any time when connnecting one switch directly to another (without a track piece in between) will not work?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

You have to be careful to use the correct controller. K-Line controllers are right/left sensitive. You'll notice a big 'R' or 'L' on the bottom of the conroller.
