This will be a real shock to some of you, we do own some diesels and here is one of them. It’s a NJ Transit by Lionel. The passenger cars are by K-line.

Got to have some steam power

And as the sun sets

Let the fun begin[:D][:p][;)]

Good job guys. Think I'll go upstairs and shoot a couple of the Polar Express smoking. Seems there are some "Doubting Thomases" in this bunch. [;)] Mainly a DU DA DU DA DAY guy. [:)] Buckeye, you downloaded the whole camera! It was funny watching the items downloading in the lower margin of the computer. Poor guys that do not have RR like we do.

Another good week in the train room and fun to see everyone's shots today, Thanks and keep up the good work.

Jon

Looks like everyone is trying to leave at once

F-3 waiting it's turn

Trolley and F-3 coming into town

Overview of the gorge and bridge

A bit off topic but moving snow this year is much more fun!

So many roads, so little time.

Lazzie - Every DUDson I've ever seen has a bell, whistle, and TWO horns! The Railway Commission dictated that as warning devices (for the reason you mentioned)...

All great photos today. I can learn something from just about everyone except that Thomas the Tank impersonator. [:D] That is the scariest engine I believe I have ever seen.

Hard to make the smoke show up good with light carpet and this camera. Guess I will have to video it and mail Duda the tape.

Sitting still at 10V

The light color drifting back over engine and tender to first car is smoke. 14V and train is moving fast.

The light colored is smaoke drifting to the left of engine.

Engine is moving at good speed. Notice the smoke coming out around the side where the cylinders are.

Caught in the turn moving along.

Engine moving at 8 V and puffint.

Buckeye – I have to make a trip to WV to see that in person.

Chief – just remember nothing smokes like an MTH

Jon – great pics

Laz – I love the night effect

Duda – No way would we let any of our women on a train that look like that. I love it.

TOM nice lanterns, little bit of elbow grease and they will look great in the train room!
If you don't mind me asking what is a fair price to pay for a lantern? I've seen them but they want lots for em.

Neat engines Roy. I always like the colors on the Great Northern. If you ever get a chance to visit Glacier National Park you will like the Great Northern even more. They built the park hotel .[:)]

Thanks Buckeye.

We have made it to Yellowstone. The kids did not suffer the trip very well (driving from Texas) so it will be awhile before we get out that way again.

I have been to the Banff Springs hotel that was built by the CP. The Banff area is absolutely magnificent. Even got to play some hockey (ha ha for a Texan) on Lake Louise at midnight. Man it's cold so we were well equipped with antifreeze!

Neat engines as BUCKEYE stated I too really like that GN paint scheme.
How do you like that NYC crane? Is it what they say it is or just all hype?

Laz,

It is all they say it is. Extemely fun to operate - but also very delicate. I had to straighten one string that was on the wrong pulley and it took 20 minutes.

I also experience the outriggers not deploying reliably as has been reported since the first release (even with track voltage at 20 volts). But even with this flaw - a very cool piece.

What Lionel needs to do here is release companion work train pieces, the first of which needs to be a sound car for the crane!

Rock on ROY,
I saw it operate down at York and you are right it needs that sound which would make it really neato.

Wow, great pictures. Chief - what is that red-colored object in one of your pictures? Is that the intermodal crane - how do you like it? Laz, I love the nightime shots - it really makes the details stand out. I have smaller shots of my layout I will try to post today.
