Another informal poll about blog topics

Would you be interested in "other sized" railway visits, such as Entertrainment Junction in Ohio (it's indoor large scale)? What about ride-on railways?

What about me visiting a farm-supply store to see what might work on a layout? The one near us has holiday toys and other stuff now.

If you have another idea, please chime in.

Rene, if it interests you it'll interest most, if not all of us.  After all, this Forum is all about knowledge sharing, entertainment, and just plain fun!  Emphasis on the fun!

So by all means, go for it!

I agree with Flintlock. Not every blog topic interests me specifically; however I tend to read them all. Are you looking for more responses from those who read them?

I'm looking for any and all feedback, even if it's a "not interested." We receive few comments on the blog. Should I assume no news is good news?

Has Garden Railways ever done a story about the Castle Peak & Thunder Railroad in Anaheim Ca.?  I came accross this video and it's one impressive garden railway!

Maybe a blog about great train places to visit.  Strasburg Pa, for example, with the Strasburg Railroad, The Railroad Museum of PA, the Choo Choo Barn and the TCA museum all in the same area.  Plenty to do, see and experience.

Actually Rene, what I really  want to know is did you and your husband ever retrieve that broken coupler from the Glacial Drumlin Trail?

And how does it look on the front lawn if you did?  Wink

Howzabout less effort on blogs, and more emphasis on more content within the covers of my favorite hobby magazine...?

I am an old fuddy-dud, if you haven't guessed. My 2 Cents

It seems that whenever I click on a sticky promoting some blog, it is always posted on some other section.  At that point I lose interest in trying to search for it.

ROTFL, that's a good one! Actually, my husband is quite intested in adding a garden railroad to the back yard in 2020. We have a general track plan but were "derailed" in 2019 due to my FIL's passing, and we also need to have a large (dead) tree removed from the backyard first.

When I know more, you'll hear about it. We're in the early planning stages and I know little other than there will be changes.

All of the above would be interesting.

Checking Farm Supply and any other stores for usable stuff would make good reading in the magazine.

I agree with Fife, it's getting really thin

Let me politely, gently, and diplomatically remind everyone this thread's about the blogs, not the magazine.

I'm not the "Thread Cop," and have no intention of being one, but if you have beefs about the magazine I'm sure you can start your own thread and I'm equally sure the mag staff will be looking at it.

No offense.

Not trying to hijack the thread just making a suggestion. If going to the trouble of doing the research on a subject why not add it to magazine. I'm guessing the bulk of subscribers could care less about a blog. Besides, threads that speak negatively  of the magazine have a tendency to be deleted.

On another note. ..... sticky posts about blogs would be followed more with a link instead of jumping through hoops to get there.

Threads on the magazine won't be deleted if their kept respectful and in the vein of constructive critisism, trust me.

did  have a thread concerning the magazine that was deleted (it seemed) within 30 seconds of when I posted it, my fault, I was downright furious when I did it. (Moderators DO look in and take notice!)   I was moderated for two weeks over it but I considered it small price to pay for something I felt at the time needed to be said.  I won't tell the tale, anyone can private message me if they're interested.

Anyway, say what you have to, just keep it civil.
