Hi all. I recently came into a possession of a HUDSON'S BAY Oil and Gas train car.
I know nothing about trains. Curious to find out who the manufacturer is and if this is a O or O27 car?
It is about 9" long, green, metal, width between wheels is about 1".
People have been asking me about if but I am not knowledgeable and don't know what to tell them lol

By you description it might be s scale ( american flyer) as there track is about 1" wide I believe. O and O-27 is wider than a inch about 1 1/2" between the rails

Did you look under the bottom of the car for a manufacturer's name? Is it a tank car? If so, how many domes? What is the distance between the tips of the wheel flanges? Are the wheel treads cylindrical or conical? Does it have Janney couplers? Are the couplers attached to the trucks or to the body of the car? Is the green color a bright green or a pale green?

S gauge is 7/8 inch. O gauge varies, but is typically 1 1/4 inch. He measured between unspecified points on the wheels, not the rails (which he probably doesn't have).
I have a Hudson's Bay Oil and Gas (HBOG) tank car. It was made by Lionel - O gauge. Tank car has reporting marks "UTLX 19605". Has an inscription below reporting marks "BLT 1-94 - Lionel". It is a single dome tank car for liquid sulphur. INnteresting, I worked at HBOG from 1974 to 1981 in the engineering department until they were sold in November 1981.
He said it was green and made of metal. The 19605 is about the right length, but yellow, and the shell looks like plastic to me.
