Hi everyone.
It is my turn to attend the York show on behalf of CTT. I will be at our new booth in the Orange Hall (next to Lou Palumbo and Len Carparelli).
Please stop by to say hello, share any photos of your home or club layout, and offer ideas for future articles.
Also, check out our latest two special-interest publications on sale there: "Lionel Trains of the 1950s" and "Best Toy Train Layouts."
Travel safely and see you in a few weeks.

I'm well aware that the TCA ED website graphic has been modified to show al future dates at 2 days.
If it's actualy factual, then that's fine.
However, there have been multiple people on other forums who have sent emails to ask for confirmation and they were told something different.
I'm sure normally links to other forums are frowned upon(please forgive this instance), but here's a specific post (so you don't have to wade through every post in the thread) where a member copied and pasted the response he received via email when he inquired. The email suggests that decisions for future events will be after the April 2020 two day event can be evaluated.
The methods of communication for this change have been lacking or at the very least using different venues for providing information.
It all started with a survey around mid-August before the announcement that it would be 2 days in April 2020. That survey was emailed to all table holders and dealers. It would have made a lot of sense to use that same email listing to inform those who were asked of any resultant decision that was made, but that was not done. (heck, I was still considering responding, but the survey closed with results only 10 days after the initial question was asked)
There was an update post on the ED Facebook page (not everyone does Facebook), and it claims October is still 3 days (with all the confusion this has created, they might have clarified if they were just stating that October 2019 was still 3 days or that October 2020 is still 3 days right now - especially since one of the options in the email survey was to keep 3 days for October meets but scale back to 2 days for April meets).
Please don't take this post as lack of grattitude for all the good work those that organize the meet must do inthe background so we can all enjoy York. I am very grateful to all the work they do. A little more organization of what got posted where might have been a good step to eliminating confusion.

Banks pointed us to the Eastern TCA website. Scroll down and look at future meet dates (on left side of page). If I read it correctly, all future meets starting Spring 2020 return to 2 days.

There has been discussion of eliminating the Spring meet, but that was tempered by knowledge that the fairgrounds commitment was out several (maybe as many as 4 years out). 2023 shows a Spring meet.
Yes - Saturdays for the last few years has been dead and the Thurs opening is light. Friday has been the big day, so expect that to continue.
Regards, Roy
It was never 4 days for the meet itself (if you count "pre-events" (TCA Museum talks?) - then it might be considered 4). It used to be 2 days, until it expanded in the early 2000's to the current 3 day model.
It has been announced that next April(2020), it will be going to 2 days (at least for that one meet - longer term impact seems up in the air, with some conflicting information out there, unfortunately). So for next April, it is true that it will be 2 days (Friday and Saturday). After that would seem to be "to be determined".
The meet that happens next month (October 2019) is still on the same 3 day schedule that has been happening since it first went to 3 days.
Thanks for the feed back. I'll be out there Friday and Saturday next month. And up until last year I wasn't a member either. But a friend convinced me to join and I'm so glad I did. Yes it can be over whelming,,, and yes you can find almost anything you want if your pockets are deep enough. But I'm an operator.... and I've found that there are good deals to be found. Not only that but the fun of the hobby to me is getting to know other train guys and swapping information and stories. I'm reading what I just wrote and will make a correction: not just train guys,,, train people,,, my wife goes to all the shows with me and I read Pennys blog all the time. If you live close try going as a guest just once. I was impressed!!!!
Some members of my train club were discussing York a few days ago. They didn't mention anything about it going from three days to two, but they DID say that after mid-day on Saturday the show seems to go dead. For what it's worth.
Not going myself, I'm not a TCA member. I've got enough stuff for now anyway, I'm running out of room as it is!
Ok, we're a little over a month away from York and I've been compilaling my want list. The realistic one..... not the I want everything one lol. I know the show was reduced to 3 days in stead of 4 this year, but a buddy of mine was done at the train shop and said he heard that starting next year they are cutting it ti just 2 days. Friday and Saturday. Has anyone else heard anything about that ???
