Repairing old Pennsylvania caboose
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, January 3, 2005 2:44 PM
i recently received both my mom's and my dad's sets of lionel trains from when they were kids. my dad's set was stored in an attic for years, and some of the wires have dried and cracked on some pieces. i would like to install a new wire for the caboose that has a light in it, what gauge wire would be the best for this??

thanks!

I use 22 gauge stranded from Radio Shack for situations such as this. It probably would be best to avoid anything larger than 20 gauge for this application, as it could impair the motion of the trucks.
