There's a short in the electromagnet.  But I'm not knowledgeable enough to tell you how to fix it.

Trains, trains, wonderful trains.  The more you get, the more you toot!  Big Smile

MTH RealTrax Automatic Uncoupling Track Section
Posted by gottcent on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 5:08 PM

I purchased a brand new MTH RealTrax (O-gauge) Automatic Uncoupling Track Section (40-1008) and inserted it into my track oval. Then I placed a Lionel postwar operating log dump car on the track and applied 14 volts power. When I pushed the track control switch to Unload it worked fine. But when I then centered a magnetic coupler over the magnet and pushed the switch to Uncouple, it not only did not uncouple the car, but it shut off all power to the track. The same thing happened when I removed the car from the track and pushed Uncouple--the power light on both the track input connector and on my transformer (a Lionel LW) went off. Any thoughts?
