I wish I could!

Over 20 years ago while I was stationed at Langley AFB, I lived in Newport News, VA.  I drove to Norfolk to watch No. 611 pull a vintage passenger train full of excited passengers.  I can't remember why I was unable to purchase tickets at the time (either it was sold out or I didn't have the cash for it), but it was still a lot of fun watching it in real life.  My son had never seen a real steam locomotive in action, so he was in awe of its size.  I'd hoped to be on the next excursion the following year, but that time ended up being the last one scheduled to my dismay.

Do you know the route it will be taking?

I am, but in September. I bought my tickets when they were first released before they extended it to York weekend. I know a lot of folks think it's odd they would do it on the Friday when that's the busiest day of the meet.

Probably coincidence.  Not everyone goes to York.
