Fife and grandson
Love the use of the Marx tinplate freight station as a centerpiece!
Regards, Roy
Nicely done!

The boy ain't shy. I simply give him some talking points and set him loose.
I test painted the foam board with household latex paints, and it held up well. It carves up well (actually, youngest princess did a lot of the cliff faces) with a hot knife. I have some plaster molds that I'm going to use, to break up the indented areas.
I can't explain my interest in the Marx structures. They just fit what I'm trying to accomplish. The planking does alter the appearance, and surprisingly the rooves aren't glaring under the room's floodlamps. The stations have a "company" appearance about them. By the time the freight area is done, it will be occupied with a half dozen horse and wagon teams, hundreds of details, and will keep the eyes "busy".
Thanks for sharing, looking forward to the next tour!!
Great video Fife! Your narrator was full of excitement and knowledge of the layout. Your video also provided me another way to use the foam.

Well Done, Sir.
Thanks for all the nice comments folks.
Flintlock - Oh, I still have all of my diesels and rolling stock from the past layout, which was set in the 70's. That box contains some of my son's engine collection. And even though this layout is set in the early 20th century, there will be nights when me and my friends will run contemporary equipment, or postwar.
Thank him for being such a good tour guide!
Trains, trains, wonderful trains. The more you get, the more you toot!
Nice video Fifedog, and what a handsome young man!
A question: With all those 19th Century engines running around loose how'd a Conrail box sneak into your train room?
great video Fife

fifedog,
What a great video. It looks like you have that grandson well "trained" too. I bet its fun to have an eager train buddy.
After reading your posts about the progress you have been making on your train room its nice to see how it looks.
