Good morning,

From a wet and raining, North Bluff, it did all night. No work today.

Phase 3 on the deck job started yesterday.

My friend, Mark did not get out here till after lunch but we made good progress on the deck re-build.

I got the inside gas valve installed before he got here. Then we replaced the face plate on the deck frame and put the decorative face boards on and about 45% of the top plate boards. The first board up on the house was the hardest. The greenwood deck boards are thicker than the cedar was so it was a real PITA! Bang Head  We went into adult beverage mode at 5:00 and Mark left by 6:00. Beer I slept like a baby. Zzz

Best get moving, I need to get another 5# box of deck screws from Menards.

Lite rain and 40 this morning.

I guess the below surface ground is still froze as there is ponding in all the back yards. I can't believe that March slipped away so quickly. Also of note to the Yorkies, CTT has moved to a new location in the Orange Hall.

Good afternoon all, been coughing my head off for the last couple of days.  Can't seem to shake it.  Had to skip a fish fry at church last night because of the cough.  Was OK today until my son came over.  I think talking sets it off.

Going out to eat tonight if I can make it with a friend.  My two sons are going to some kind of car race at Irwindale raceway tonight.

Went to my Jazz club last Sunday but I think I mentioned that already.

I have been very inactive on the O gauge railroad front for several months.  Weather is warming up a bit now so maybe I can give it another shot in the garage but still having trouble ducking under part of the layout.  D. Baker built a couple of lift outs for me but the last one is in a bad place for that.  It is where three parts of the layout come together.  It would take a major layout rebuilding to accomplish that.  I will try to make do with what I have.  Main thing to do now is just keeping the track clean.

Dennis, V8, I missed that car chase on TV.  What an idiot.  He will probably get probation and a $10 fine.  That's life in L.A.

Mornin' boys.  Cool and cloudy today; yesterday in the 70's.  Oh well.  Had hoped to visit the Maple Fest in Meyersdale today, but it's colder up there with flurries.  Probably flip back and forth from O's to NASCAR.  Still need to solve my short issue with the 3656 cattle pen.

Nice easy train yesterday, and met another retiree (BCoFD), who volunteers on the Wilmington & Western.  He still lives back where past Fifedom was, and it was nice to compare our post-public servant lifestyles.

Morning.  60 and cloudy.  Showers around.  Cold front coming through.  Highs going back to the 50's.  Been 70's for days with lows in the 50's.  May hit close to freezing.  Greenhouse back full of plants.

Ray and Dennis.  You all have a lot of excitement in LA.  Always good to see your posts.

Fifey, maple!!!!  Bet that is a good one.

Kev, our deck guys had a drill attachment that loads screws.  Then you stand up and press down.  Drives screws while standing.  I'm sure it is $$$.

Have a great week ahead.  [tonight is new Pot].

Sunny and 33 heading to 40 maybe? Got into the low 20s overnight. Tongue Tied Too cold!

Chief, That would of been nice to have, never seen one. My knees and back sure did not like the kneeling and bending putting in those screws. Sore and stiff today.

Taking today off to get ready for more tomorrow.

Best get to it.

Hello there,

been kinda busy. Another big fish fry Friday evening. 831 paid. I turned the fryer over to my protégé a little after 5 and went to a Hillclimb club meeting. Test & tune only 3 weeks away. Yesterday had a viewing and funeral for a cousins MIL. Got home mid afternoon and spent a couple of hours doing more contractor prep.

Capped the day off watching the littlest granddaughters for the evening.

Mass this morning, followed by French Toast and bacon at home. Then I took a notion to go flea shopping and have dinner before heading home to complete the contractor prep. Gotta undo the electrics.
Best get to it.

Prayers for those in need

Afternoon folks!

Got some needed extra sleep this morning. 40 when i rolled outta bed this am. Mid-50's today and it is surprisingly sunny!

NASCAR this afternoon, likely another snoozer...will address some workspace projects and cleanup while the race is on.

DJ - so sorry about all the issues you are dealing with lately...

KEV - good progress!

Dennis and Ray - saw that on the news...always amazing what idiots do...we had a guy here - only a very old minor offense in record - tries to outrun a traffic stop, gets trapped, shoots a highway patrolman (luckily he is ok after surgery), holes up for 15 hours in an apartment where he got trapped. Finally got him out after breaching the apt. And you have to wonder why?

Wound up spending the better part of the day working on the 3656 cattle car(s) and stockyard.  Found the short to the coil; 70 year old wiring is deteriorating.  Soldered new wire, but man-o-man getting the thing back together was an exercise in patience.  Works good, not great, but I will tweek on it as time goes by.  As to the cattle cars themselves, again wiring is deteriorating, and the wire leads to the pick-up shoes all were broken.  The eventual goal is to have a string of ARMOUR cattle cars operating.

Get along little doh-gees! Cowboy

Good evening all,

Had a good practice run Saturday.  3:28.44 for 3.765 MPH average.  Pace was a shade under 16 minutes.  Came home.  Took shower and went to Mass.  Watched Indy 11 win 1-0.  Went to back room to read MR and Trains and went to sleep instead.  Still felt good enough today to get some things done.  Weather rainy Saturday and cool today.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
