Lionmaster bigboy problems
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, December 31, 2004 12:11 PM
Hi everyone! I'm new to this board. I'm wondering if anyone would have some advise for me. My dad got a new Lionel lionmaster bigboy for christmas. We are trying to run it on his o-guage layout. It derails on a new model gargraves switch that sits in a 036 (approx) curve. It makes it through all the other curves and switches on the layout. We have adjusted clearances on both sides, so it's not an issue of the engine hitting anything. I can post a pic if that would help.
Thanks!

Howdy,

Welcome to the forum!

Does it derail on the switch on both side? Going foward and in reverse?

Thanks

Peaks,

A picture would be helpful.

Which wheelset is derailing first? Pilot, 1st set of drivers, 2nd set?

It may be that the wheels are climbing the frog. Watch it carefully. Is the outside guardrail properly guiding the wheels away from the frog?

Roy
