I have received replies to this question in another forum. The answer is that the order of the digits does not matter and that 34 and 43 should be equivalent.
i turned off the smoke on my Hudson steam locomotive in command using the Aux1+8 command on my cab1 controller. The Aux1+9 command should turn it back on but it is not working. I thought I would try a reset of the L2RC but the manual for the engine says to use code 43 and the table from Lionel support says to use 34. Has anyone reset a 28000 series steam engine recently? Has anyone else had trouble with the smoke unit not turning on? All other functions are working. Smoke unit switch is on and it has fluid.
