The 1952 movie Bright Victory, which includes some shots of a GG1 in motion, will be on TCM today at 1:15P CST. It's also not a bad movie, in the vein of The Best Years of Our Lives.

All the live long day...

Another film with quite a few GG1 shots is 1945's Pride of the Marines, with John Garfield as Marine Navy Cross winner Al Schmid. Schmid was a Philadelphia native so a number of Philly locations are shown along with the GG1's.
Watched " Bright Victory". The train scenes don't appear until nearly the end, but no matter. Great movie. There's an Alco PA, and later, the GG1. Can't see the terminal too well, but I assume it is Broad Street, in Philly.
I went through 30th Street a couple of times. The first when we met one of our train fan crew, coming in by train from NYC, to go to York to see the K-4.
The second time I was passing through on Amtrak, riding the former Pennsylvania in '90. This was before the line change, and they were still using Pennsylvania tracks. Saw a lot of position light signals still. Went over Horseshoe, and Rockville.
