ok, weird - now I do get hits, but didn't before. Anyway, that is what I have. None of the links that came up were useful for my question though. Most were ebay sales.
I Googled "AC1803000" and came up with this:
Bob Nelson
My apologies. I did search the community but did not find anything that answered my particular question. The transformer is just a plain black one labeled Lionel, with a large round speed dial, a forward/reverse button, and a horn (I assume) button. On the back it has "Use 3 amp power pack only". The power supply is a brick with no brand, model AC1803000, I/P 120VAC 60Hz 77 W, O/P 18 VAC, 3A. Searching the part # on the web did not come up with this power supply.
This question has been asked very many times in the past; so you might try the "Search the Community" feature to see what suggested solution might fit your situation.
In any case, what you may be able to do depends a lot on what transformer or power supply you're using; so you might post that for the benefit of those who can suggest something specifically for what you've got.
I have a Lionel O-27 gauge train that I want to set up for my 2 1/2 yr old grandaughter. But I did this a number of years ago for my grandson, and the problem is that the controller only needs a relatively short turn to get the train going so fast it comes off the track on curves. How can I decrease/cut the power going to the train so that it would take a much larger turn of the dial to get it going fast? (Hopefully I am explaining this well enough.)
