What is the minimum diameter that can be made with S-gauge track?
what track should I use. I have boxes of old track, but think the new track would make a smaller diameter curve.
You probably don’t want to use anything of a smaller diameter than the vintage American Flyer track, since the trains weren’t designed to go around any sharper curves. Vintage American Flyer track has a 20” radius curve.. anything sharper than that will be unable to accomodate larger equipment, including the ALCo PAs, and the 4-8-4 Northern, so regardless of who’s track you use, don’t go any sharper with the curves.

Trains, trains, wonderful trains. The more you get, the more you toot!
American Flyer pikemaster track is a smaller radius than the standard track. However like others said you will not be able to run the larger locomotives. The Baldwins, Atlantics, Pacifics and some smaller S-Helper locos all work fine with pikemaster.
