Looking for O scale FP9H and GP30M
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 1:13 PM
Have searched everywhere I know, so does anyone know of an O scale FP9 and GP30 in production? If so, who makes it and where can I purchase them. I have just decided on the railway and era I want to build and need these two locos to recreate it. I am new to building model railroads but know I want to be in O scale. We have a family tradition for boys, that the first Christmas they get a Lionel set and a Christmas boxcar each year following. My father passed away and my brother gave me his set to work with. I currently have Lionel sets from 1973, one bought in 1963 and one in 1936 (say bought, cause not sure on the production dates)
Anyway, I live in Branson, MO and want to recreate the railway of this area. Been researching history and currently have a scenic railway tour utilizing these two locos and would like to incorporate that into the reproduction.
Thanks in advance for any help.

jejenkins,

Welcome to the CTT forum!

Lionel has a new line of GP-30's, the 6-28839 Alaska RR and the 6-28850 NYC.

I do not know about the FP9 (EMD F unit product 1954 - 1959 after F7's and F3's) being available in O gauge.

Regards,
Roy
