$9.99 Dremel-like rotary w/60 accessories

Harbor Freight, now selling. Approx 17K RPMs rotary and 60 tools, some of which would normally cost $2 or $3 each, incl. mandrels, cutters (a huge variety--these are the best bargains IMO), grinding stones, cutting wheels, wire brushes, sanders, polishers. Also comes in a nicely organized hard-plastic carrier.

I was surprised to find that the rotary tool actually works (I purchased the kit mostly for the accessories). I can't guarantee for how long it will work, but hey, even Dremel's burn out.

I also purchased a full-face mask to a mandrel doesn't fly up inside my nose or something.

I also returned all of my air tools and moisture trap and will try to find a trap in Sears tonight.

Happy shopping!

I've been eyeing their mini machinist lathe and milling machine.

Dave, that sounds like the one my brother-in-law gave to my 12-year-old mechanically-disinclined daughter for Christmas. (He's a mechanic by trade and may see things a little differently from the rest of us.) She has offered it to me, who got a Dremel for Christmas myself!

3railguy,

The mini lathe and milling machine that HF carry are the same ones that Micromark carries, but the Micromark units are set up for inches (where the HF ones use a metric to inch conversion). Compared to the HF in my area - the Micromark price is better and Micromark has all the accessories availble where HF do not.

BTW - MIcromark typically run a sale once a year on these units.

I have also been looking at these guys for some time now. Haven't taken the plunge yet because I have no place to put them at this time.
