Polar Express IMAX top-grossing Hollywood-Mainstream Movie

According to an article in todays (Dec. 28, 2004) Denver Rocky Mountain News by Greg Hernandez (Los Angeles Daily News), the Polar Express movie has grossed over 20 million dollars for the IMAX corporation theatres. This makes it the top "mainstream" movie to ever play in the IMAX format. Also quoted in the article was Dan Fellman (president fo domestic distribution for Warner Bros) who stated that the Polar Express movie will be "one of the few movies in the history of our industry that has never been No. 1 but will certainly exceed $160 million domestically.
We went to the Denver IMAX lastnight. We had to go to the 9:25 PM show because the three afternoon shows were sold out!!! The late show was about 60% full.
