I'm living in California. Have Lionel and Marx Train Sets in very good condition. 1940's. Where is a good place to sell them?

Youll need to do your homework first. Try setting up an account on trainzauctions.com. You can inventory your trains there and know about what they are worth.

Our formum host also offers an updated Greenberg values book.

Once you have an idea of the value you have a couple choices. Unless you have something very mint or rare it's a buyers market for old trains. Expect to get around $.50 on the book value $$ from eBay or $.25 from a reseller like Trainz.

Avoid Craigslist or Facebook. You'll either get a cherry picker who will only buy something rare or a 'kid wants a train to run around the tree' for $25, buyer.
