L&N 2-8-4 berkshire #6-28628
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 9:42 AM
I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this question, but I have been looking for months for the Lionel 2-8-4 berkshire engine L&N roadname model 6-28628. I cannot find anywhere on the internet or on ebay, can anyone help. I would be willing to even go to a different manufacturer as long as it is L&N railroad steam.
thanks so much

Charles,

Welcome to the forum!

I just did a quick Google search on "Lionel 6-28628" and came up with the following:

Lionel 2003 vol 2 catalog, typ listed at $230.

http://www.frankthetrainman.com/steam.html

http://www.aplustrains.com/shopping/catalog/index.php?manufacturers_id=25&sort=4a&page=3

http://www.treasured-toys.com/Catalogs/Lionel%202003%20Vol%201%20Pricelist.pdf

http://www.trainsandplaneshobbies.com (I have bought from these guys in Houston and thay are OK)

There were lots of other hits - but these were top of the list.

Hope this helps you.

Berkshire Trains in Lexington had a decent sized stock of them the last time I was in. Go to www.berkshiretrains.com to get their phone number, and give them a call.

Thank you so much for your replies, I have tried all of them and their web sites show availability, but when I email them to make sure, none of them have the L&N's available, just have not updated web site.
I am still looking if anyone can help.
thanks again

Well,

Now we know what was popular with toy train fans this year!

Did you try these guys?

www.grzyboskitrains.com 570-347-3314

www.trainworld.com 1-800-541-7010

I have purchased from both of these venders and had excellent results.

Try contacting them to see if they can obtain it if they do not have it.

Roy
