After my retirement in 2014 I began planning for my permanent model train layout. Thanks to my father my selected scale size is O gauge. In his honor I wish to include to a portion of my layout a model of Harbison Walker Refractories. Father worked there from after WWII until the plant closed in 1963. This is my initial discussion for the forum and it appears to be a difficult one. For several weeks I have contacted all the advertisers in the CTT as well as many that are not for information on fire brick kilns for O gauge layout. From a contact in MA I know that Walthers once produced brick kilns in HO scale. They have since sold their molds for the kilns. I hope that someone in this community forum may know sources of kilns and smoke stacks that may be available for use in my O gauge model refractory.

If you are looking for a quick solution, you might want to start with a Dept 56 T.L.Pigs Brich Factory.
There are over 1100 items on ebay (toys column). Also use ebay for finding old photos and postcards of brick works.
we fortunately have a couple of good photos of the Harbison Walker Olive Hill KY plant.
thanks for the welcome and your input!
Also Welcome
You might want to talk to kevin ( KRM ) for some details as I remember he made a guy welding for his layout, so maybe he could help you figure out a Brick oven or something for your building.
