Does anyone know of good sources to find 1:43 or 1:48 furniture and/or accessories to outfit buldings etc.

I've used this kit: https://scalescenes.com/product/interior-detail/ of download and print paper (cardstock) furniture.  The kit comes as either 1:76 OO or 1:148 N scale.  I bought the OO and enlarged it for some of the interiors of the tallest building:

Those are MTH figures inside the tower which represents a shopping center with a movie theater and restaurants.  Note the Colonel:

The pics don't show it well but there are chairs and couches with multiple fabric options plus carpets and tapestries patterns that you can use for customizing.

Yes.  I used the woodgrain textures (images) from some cabinets that come with the set to make custom pieces.

In the March 2009 issue I did an story about adding detail (including interior) to an MTH building. I used interior details (desk, chairs, bookcase) from Berkshire Valley. I think I got one or two pieces rom a local store and the rest on eBay.
